Dog friendly camping

 Dogs really love the outdoors and would love to be included in your camping escape. 

But, there are a few things you might need to know, like how to keep your pets safe from wild animals, where to camp with dogs, and howto keep your dog well-behaved at the campground. You might also be wondering how to camp safely with dogs. 

Health and Safety

·        Be attentive to your dog’s health at all times.

·        Be knowledgeable of diseases that can be contracted through wildlife, plants, and insects.

·        Use flea/tick repellents or collars. Dogs are higher risk in getting ticks and fleas.

·        Allow timefor your dog to adjust to new surroundings.

·        Make sure you provide rest time for your dog.

·        Never leave your dog unattended when it’s outside.

·        Remove anyleftover dog food after mealtime and store in a place which will not attractunwanted wildlife and insects.

·        Please note that it is recommended that dogs and other pets not be taken into back country terrain. These areas are not suitable for dogs or other pets due to rugged terrain, wildlife issues and the potential for problems with bears.

·        Selecting a Camping Tent for Your Dog. Dog likes to stretch out and sleep diagonally in the bed. When considering a sleeping space for a dog camping trip, make sure the tent is large enough for you and your pets to sleep comfortably. Consider your dog as a person when buying a tent.
